Thurby

Historically, Friday (Oaks Day) was always “Louisville’s day at the races.” But as word got out what a fun weekend the Oaks/Derby exacta was the crowds grew and grew on Friday. Tickets became pricier and more difficult to obtain.

So…in the spirit of finding an alternative “Thurby” was born; the Thursday before Derby, frequented by locals.

The atmosphere is a little more laid back than Friday or Saturday but dress remains important. Sportcoats – maybe without a tie – depending on where you’re seated - or even an open collared sportshirt are appropriate.
